Condition & Clinical FAQs
How do I know if my condition is appropriate for physical therapy?
Physical therapy is effective for a wide spectrum of issues, from chronic mobility limitations to acute sports injuries. If you're experiencing pain, stiffness, or a decline in performance, our comprehensive evaluation will determine if clinical therapy is the right move for your recovery.
When should I see a doctor instead of a physical therapist?
If you have experienced severe trauma, suspect a fracture, or have symptoms like night pain, unexplained weight loss, or loss of sensation, see a physician immediately. We specialize in musculoskeletal health and will refer you out if we identify any 'red flags' during assessment.
Do I need a doctor's referral or a script to book an evaluation?
In many cases, including New Jersey, you can start physical therapy without a doctor’s referral through Direct Access. This allows you to begin treatment immediately, though some insurance plans may require a script for coverage. We can verify your specific benefits for you.
Can physical therapy help if I want to improve performance but am not currently 'injured'?
Absolutely. Many of our clients are high-performing athletes looking to optimize movement mechanics and prevent future injury. Our assessments identify asymmetries and imbalances, helping you bridge the gap between rehab and elite athletic potential before issues arise.
Is it okay to exercise if I have a condition you are treating?
Movement is medicine, but the intensity matters. Part of your treatment plan includes clear guidance on which activities to continue and which to modify. Our goal is to keep you active and performing while ensuring your condition has the environment it needs to heal safely.
